Obituary for Geneva Gifford Rigg

Maysville - Geneva Gifford Rigg crossed over from this world to be with her Heavenly Father, the Angels and those loved and gone before, waiting with open arms to welcome her on Friday night, June 21, 2019. Geneva was born March 18, 1928 to Ernest and Maude Cooper Gifford in Robertson County, Kentucky.

Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Regina Wilkins of Maysville and Becky (Jeff) Fulton of Lexington; and three sons, Ronald Rigg of Florida, Bart (Tammy) Rigg of Georgia, and Trey (Kelle) Rigg of Maysville. She has one sister-in-law, Faye Orth of Portsmouth, Ohio and a special niece Debbie Feldman of Alexandria, Kentucky. Mrs. Rigg has 5 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 9 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Rigg; four sisters, Ethel Staggs, Eloise Reeves, Irma Soard, Goldie Irene Wheeler, and three brothers, Glen, Woodrow, and Donald Ray Gifford.

Geneva loved playing bridge at the Maysville Bridge Club. She adored her family and their visits. She was a retired local business woman. She ran the former Ashland Gas Station in Washington, the Rigg Motel, a grocery store and managed several rental properties.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation for Geneva will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Geneva’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as her pallbearers: Jamie Wilkins, Russell Rigg, Tyler Fulton, Zachary Rigg, Gared Rigg, Alex LaBarr, Quinn Connelly, Jamison Wilkins and Chase Pinkerton. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters and great-granddaughters: Pam Connelly, Kara Pinkerton, Sarah Jordan, Shayla Fulton, Haley Rigg, Agnes Rigg, Claire Connelly, Alysa Pinkerton, Saray Jordan and Jenna Wilkins.
